Smell This

And you thought you were obsessed with perfume?

The film "Perfume", released 20 years after the publication of the reclusive novelist Patrick Süskind's famous novel of the same name, is now on DVD.

And if you can tear yourself away from Holt's new perfume bar for two hours, we can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The film follows the orphan Grenouille, born with a super–human sense of smell, from his birth in a Paris fish market through his apprenticeship with a master parfumeur, to his pilgrimage to the famous fragrance town of Grasse to learn the ancient art of enfleurage with roses and lavender.

Grenouille's pursuit of the world's most perfect perfume—one that will complete him and finally bring him recognition—is a cautionary tale of ego and murder, brought to life by the director of "Run Lola Run," and the Berlin Philharmonic's haunting score.

You'll never spritz the same way again.
