Notting Hill Holiday
DECEMBER 13TH, 2007
There's nothing like a jolt of London town to wake a gal from her winter slumber. Herewith, our guide to one of our favourite hoods, Notting Hill.
sleep
Think a pinch of Seattle's Ace Hotel with a dash of B&B (minus the annoying cat and phone rules) and you have Guesthouse West. Located on a residential street smack dab in the middle of Notting Hill you will totally feel like a local. Plus there's amazing people watching off the hotel's street-front patio and complimentary European breakfasts. Do splurge for garden suites 2 or 3. www.guesthousewest.co.uk
shop
A treasure trove for any fashion lover, One is must-shop boutique on Ledbury Road conveniently located across the street from another fave, Paul & Joe. We swooned for a gorgeous Balenciaga white fur cape (1,000 GBP), the long chunky necklaces with gemstones in fall hues of merlot, amethyst and cerulean blue and the beautiful selection of antique clutches worthy of Coco herself. www.only0ne.com
eat
Ottolenghi
Your only problem with Ottolenghi will be choosing what to eat as everything from the savoury charcuterie-based sandwiches to the sweet, buttery croissants is to die for. It's the perfect spot to fuel-up in the morning before you hit the shops. www.ottolenghi.co.uk
