LOVING LAS VEGAS

LOVING LAS VEGAS
We jetted to the desert for a decadent long weekend in Sin City.
Herewith, the best of Las Vegas nightlife.
Tao
Tao
nightclub at the Venetian Hotel has a Buddha-meets-booze vibe—think
waterfalls and a hand-carved 20 foot Buddha floating on an infinity
pool, go-go dancers in bird cages, DJ-mixed Top 40 hits and European
bottle service. Open Thursday, Friday, Saturday until 5 a.m., www.venetian.com/TAONIGHTCLUB
Tryst
Located in the 2.7 billion dollar Wynn resort (that's right, billion), Tryst
nightclub is an unnatural wonder: the outdoor manmade lake, mountains
and waterfall are surrounded by 200-year-old trees where VIPs can enjoy
bottle service while bopping to hip hop and Top 40 mash-ups. Open until
4 a.m., www.trystlasvegas.com
JET
The Mirage Hotel is home to JET,
a female friendly club—there's a separate "ladies only" line that moves
quickly. Four bars, three rooms and hip hop, rock and house tunes are
sure to keep you entertained until 4 a.m., www.mirage.com
Body English
Sean Penn and Kate Hudson have hit the Hard Rock's marquee club;
perhaps they love the ultra-VIP area's one way mirror: they can watch
the action in the club, but no one can see them. And for every girl
who's been stuck in a long bathroom line-up, you'll appreciate the huge
washrooms, and this is one of the few clubs with ample space for
non-bottle patrons to mingle. www.bodyenglish.com
PURE
This Caesars Palace nightclub
is undoubtedly one of the hottest in Vegas: hundreds of people wait to
get in. The sleek white main room and celebrity DJ's (like Steven Aoki,
DJ AM and Mark Ronson) add to the too–cool cache. Be sure to check out
the 14,000 square foot terrace for panoramic views of the strip. The
Pussycat Dolls perform in the adjacent lounge, but you could show them
a few moves, right? www.purethenightclub.com
And for the sleep deprived…
Drais Afterhours
In a slightly seedy hotel (Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon, to be exact), Drais
is decked out like a lush speakeasy with leopard print booths, dark
wood tables, red walls, ornately framed oil paintings and candlelit
bookcases with a friendly crowd of tourists and Vegas locals. Open 1
a.m. until the last person leaves. Was that you? www.drais.net
