It's a Thai
When we heard Gastropod was gone, we gasped. But not all nosh is lost. The space remains the same (save for a few minor cosmetic changes) and in its place Maenam has moved in (and it’s just as yummy).
Chef Angus An is still at the helm, but now he’s putting to use his penchant for Thai cuisine that he picked up working with David Thompson at Nahm in London, the only Michelin-starred Thai restaurant running. In fact, it’s he who inspired the fish dish we had—a crispy lingcod with Thai basil ($17) that hits the palate with sweet, salty and sour flavours all at once.
Serve that up with a personalized cocktail ($10) dreamed up by the bartender, some of the best Pad Thai ($14) we’ve ever had, and sweet Roti ($3), and there’s no need to fly away when you can Thai-over your taste buds then hit Kits beach.
