Eating Español
We don't remember much from our two semesters of Spanish, but we do speak the language of food.
And for both Spanish sustenance and speech, it doesn't get any more authentic than Café Barcelona.
Two Spaniards, one the former Spanish Consul General, run the new tapas
bar, and on many nights the smooth and syncopated sounds of their
native tongue is heard more readily than English. For a light lunch, we
suggest a cup of Gaspatxo ($3.50) and pintxo servings of Mousse Queso
Azul, a blue cheese cream with minced walnuts ($2), and Tortilla
Patatas, a potato and onion omelette served on tomato bread ($2.25). To
wash it down, a glass of Burgans Albarino wine ($9.25) is a must.
