Grocery Shop like a Parisian
|

DECEMBER 13TH, 2010
You’ll
find a little piece of Paris at the residential corner of 28th and St.
George in the form of a quaint new neighbourhood grocer.
Run by potter Janaki Larsen and her family, Marché St. George
sells nice things and necessities alike, from Farmhouse cheeses and
organic flour, to well-packaged soaps and French candies in cute tins.
In place of the lotto station you see at most convenience stores,
there’s a display of fresh pastries sent over from Plaisir Sucre. Take
a seat with your croissant and coffee and admire the space of old wood
tables and weathered chairs. Come summer, they’ll also have a slew of
produce grown from within a ten block radius.
Grocery shopping has never been so romantique.
