Vancouver Fashion Girls’ First Spring Purchase

Vancouver Fashion Girls’ First Spring Purchase

We queried three of Vancouver’s most notable style bloggers on what spring things they’re shopping for first and the designer collection that most excites their fashion sense:

Anya Georgijevic, I'm the It Girl
Fave S/S collection: Jil Sander

First Spring purchase: I plan to embrace long skirts. It really is the thing this season. Just ask Jil Sander and Lanvin. Club Monaco's version, the “Joan” skirt ($129), is a steal! I'm super hyped about it. Hopefully the never-ending rain settles down, so I don't look like I fell overboard during a fabulous yacht party when I wear it.

Alexandra Suhner Isenberg, Searching for Style
Fave S/S collection: I am going to be predictable and say Prada. I’d love to have some of those bright-coloured fox stoles and dresses or separates with the incredible monkey banana prints and bold stripes.

First Spring purchase: I am fortunate enough to be friendly with the designer and founder of Finsk, my favorite shoe brand, so she lets me order shoes directly from her. I ordered these sandals (US$540, available soon at www.finsk.com) because they are very strappy, serious, and comfortable. Usually I wouldn't consider comfortable as an important quality in a pair of shoes, but as I'm expecting a baby in July, I need to start wearing more practical footwear. My five inch heels are getting very uncomfortable as I put on baby weight. Although that didn't stop me from buying a pair of her super high wedges as well.

Fave S/S 2011 Collection: Former Balenciaga Studio Director, Bouchra Jarrar’s collection. It’s the perfect blend of minimalism and elegance.

First Spring Purchase: A long maxi dress. Go long or not go at all. I am lusting over the button-up maxi dress by MinkPink ($108)
