MARCH 17TH, 2011 Gypsy Woman No need to rummage through piles of funky polyester to discover a silk gem. Thanks to the Gypsy Market Vintage pop-up shop at Gastown’s One of a Few boutique, we can peruse pre-selected vintage pieces. The shop is curated by stylist Sarah La Greca and features notable and quality garments, shoes and accessories from the past few decades. Some of the clothing has been given a makeover by simply shortening the hemline or distressing the fabric. We walked out with a red silk blouse ($65) reminiscent of Prada’s current silhouettes and a minimal sheer silk cropped yellow blouse ($60). Don’t fret, there is more in store: the shop will be replenished every week during its five month duration.
