1. Wall-mounted faucet. This 42-square-foot bathroom offers a lot of great ideas for a small bathroom. The wall-mounted faucet frees up space on the compact vanity for a large rectangular vessel sink. Plus, wall-mounted fixtures are easier to clean around than those mounted on countertops.
2. Wood-covered medicine cabinet. This contemporary bathroom is spacious and gorgeous. But what I really love is the thoughtful idea of covering the medicine cabinet door with a piece of grainy walnut that complements the floating vanity to add just the right additional scoop of warmth.
3. Bucket sink. OK, technically this is in a laundry room, but this durable glazed steel bucket sink would work just as well in a bathroom, especially a guest or kids’ bath. There are no holes for a faucet, so you’d have to incorporate a wall-mounted one, as shown earlier. But hey, it’s two great ideas in one!
4. Black hex tiles. If you’re looking to add a little drama and depth to your master bathroom, consider large-format black hex tiles, as shown here. The color creates a moody vibe, while the pattern offers a graphic, textural look.
5. Beveled tiles. Speaking of tiles, if you’re going the more traditional subway tile route, think about going with a beveled edge, as on the marble wall tile here. It adds just a bit more dimension and character to take a room from typical to dynamic.
6. Wallpaper. It’s amazing how upbeat a bathroom becomes with the addition of a lively wallpaper. Here, an ocean-inspired print perks up a small bungalow bathroom in a way that even the most vibrant paint job couldn’t.
